Where does Campaign Merch to Retire ?

"CAMPAIGN MERCH" disposal isn't something I have thought a lot about. I am a proponent of using branded merchandise to build your brand or further your mission, but what happens after a candidate loses or drop outs early? The article talks about donating it to charities and that it can change people's life that receive it. I'm sorry to say that even in the poorest of countries, a Romney t-shirt will not change anyones life. They don't need hand outs, they need opportunity. But I digress. Most of the campaign merch is an afterthought and basically a boring logo tee so of course no one wants them after the campaign. Obama did a great job of making wearable lifestyle merchandise and love some of the items Andrew Yang put out which would make more people want to collect them. Wether it is campaign merch, corporate swag, or non-profit donor gifts, if it lacks in design and product quality, it will all end up in the land fill at some point.
